<p><b>GLORIA LADSON-BILLINGS</b> is the Kellner Family Distinguished Chair in Urban Education Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, she worked as a teacher in the Philadelphia public school system. She has served as president of the American Educational Research Association and the National Academy of Education and is a Fellow of the British Academy, the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and the American Educational Research Association.
