Beschreibungen

The fields scattered by metallic bodies or radiated by some types of antennas are created by the surfaces currents and therefore they are subject to some restrictions. The book is the first one where the properties of these fields are investigated in details. The properties have the important significance for the antenna synthesis, body shape reconstruction and other diffraction problems. The material of the book lies in the meetingpoint of the antenna theory, highfrequency electrodynamics and inverse scattering problems.
The author is an internationally renowned investigator in the field of electromagnetic waves and diffraction theory.

Boris Z. Katsenelenbaum was born in Moscow, 1919. He received his M.Sc. from Moscow State University in 1941, his Ph.D. in 1948, D.Sc. degree in 1961, and a professor diploma in 1965. Since 1954 he has held numerous positions at the URSS Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics/Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), the latest that of Chief Scientist. He was also a Professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1962-1985). Since 1998 he has been living in Nahariya, Israel.
This is the first book to investigate in detail the properties of fields scattered by metallic bodies or radiated by certain types of antennae. Such properties are significant for antenna synthesis, body shape reconstruction and other diffraction problems. The material of the book lies at the interface of antenna theory, high-frequency electrodynamics and inverse scattering problems.
The author is an internationally renowned researcher in the field of electromagnetic waves and diffraction theory.
