“This volume spans the full spectrum of the applications of health psychology, from promoting health and well-being, to preventing substance misuse and obesity, and promoting adjustment to chronic illness. This is a wonderfully pragmatic collection, which never loses sight of the centrality of good theory and the importance of building a robust evidence base for what we [health psychologists] do.” —Molly Byrne, National University of Ireland, Galway

“This superb handbook provides comprehensive and scholarly reviews of the psychological implications and practical management of a wide range of health conditions. Written by international leaders in their fields, this is an indispensable resource for all psychologists or aspiring psychologists working in health settings.”—Professor Susan Paxton, La Trobe University, Melbourne
