<b>Ibrahim M. Abu-Rabi‛</b> is Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations and co-Director of the Duncan Black McDonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary. He is the co-editor of <i>The Muslim World</i>, the oldest journal on Islam in the US. He is the editor of several books and the author of the following: <i>Intellectual Origins of Islamic Resurgence in the Modern Arab</i> <i>World (State University of New York Press, 1995) and Contemporary Arab Thought: Studies in Post-1967 Arab Intellectual History</i> <i>(Pluto Press, 2004).</i>
