He is a senior member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Polymer Processing Society (PPS). He has received many awards and honorsand has held many leadership positions. His most recent leadership post was as Presidentof the Upper Midwest (S22) Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers. THEIN KYU is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Polymer Engineering at the University of Akron.
