'Positive emotions lead to health, health leads to sustainability and full cognitive capability, and this leads to effective performance and adaptability, This latest collection of papers by the terrific trio of Cooper, Quick and Schabracq helps shine the light on the latest research from multiple fields in the context of an emerging literature that will soon become required reading for anyone wanting to be a manager, executive, leader, or professional.' - Professor Richard E. Boyatzis, Case Western Reserve University, USA
The immense legal, financial and efficiency implications of workplace health have put it at the very top of the corporate agenda. Exploring the interface between organizational and health psychology, the International Handbook of Work and Health Psychology is the definitive reference to this rapidly growing field. With expert international contributors and new chapters in areas such as positive psychology, well-being, gender differences and older workers, the Third Edition presents the key research behind our understanding of what influences health and well-being at work, and links it with current practice. Exploring contemporary concerns about how work is changing and the challenges of managing such change, the International Handbook of Work and Health Psychology, Third Edition points the way forward for healthier work organizations. It is an essential resource for students, researchers and practitioners in organizational psychology, health psychology and occupational medicine, and an invaluable source of practical insights for HR professionals and policymakers in the field.

‘The timing of this Handbook could not be better. Now the World’s economies appear to be starting to recover from Global Financial Crash, there will be a stronger need than ever for organizations to manage the health of their employees. Financial stringency, longer hours, demands for performance all contribute to stress and, unless managed appropriately, can result in negative health outcomes. What I really like about this book, therefore, is its increased emphasis on positive outcomes. It’s not all doom and gloom. Based on the latest evidence-based research, the authors of the chapters in the Handbook provide a positive agenda for improving workplace health and wellbeing.’
—Neal M. Ashkanasy, Professor of Management, The University of Queensland, Australia
‘Positive emotions lead to health, health leads to sustainability and full cognitive capability, and this leads to effective performance and adaptability. This new edition of the Handbook of Work and Health Psychology is very timely in reflecting the important economic and social changes which have impacted on the nature of work, work organization and employee health and well being in recent years.

‘In particular, the book highlights the key importance of an organizational strategy for health improvement build around intervention and prevention.
