<b>James C. Bradford</b> is Associate Professor of History at Texas A & M University. He is the editor of nearly a dozen volumes, including the <i>Atlas of American Military History</i> (2003) and <i>The International Encyclopedia of Military History</i> (2006). He is also currently President of the North American Society for Oceanic History.

Through more than 60 scholarly essays<i>, A Companion to American Military History</i> presents a comprehensive analysis of the historiography of United States military events and experiences from the colonial era to the present.
