Anke Kruger is currently Professor of Organic Chemistry at University of Wurzburg. After her postdoc at Toyohashi University of Technology with Professor Eiji Osawa, she became a researcher at the Otto-Diels-Institute of Organic Chemistry in Kiel in 2002, and a Junior Professor in 2007 at the same institution befofe moving to Wurzburg in 2008.
Among her numerous awards are the PhD scholarship of the Fonds of the Chemische Industrie, JSPS/Feodor-Lynen Scholarship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Liebig Habilitation Scholarship of the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie and the ADUC Jahrespreis fur Habilitanden.
The structural diversity of nanoscience and of carbon is immense. This book provides an introduction into the field of carbon nanotechnology covering everything from nanowires to nanodiamonds, synthesis and applications.

From the contents:
* Carbon
* Fullerenes
* Carbon nanotubes
* Carbon onions and related structures
* Nanodiamonds
* Diamond films

Of interest not only for students but for all material scientists as well as organic and inorganic chemists, or anyone in need of a quick overview of the field. Included at the back of the book is a handy Do-It-Yourself kit for building fullerenes and nanotubes which is a great aid to help with understanding.
